Matthew, thanks for the review. Have you been able to replicate any of the WiFi reception issues similar to the iPhone 4? The “death grip” has been reported on the Buy Htc Sensation: Thanks, Jay petersonjp 06/06/2011 08:02 AM @petersonjp I guess I haven’t used the WiFi connection that much to see anything like this. I get great 4G signal everywhere, including at my home, and I have not seen any signal degradation for that. I’ll test WiFi more. Who cares about Bluetooth and death grip? If you are using Bluetooth it usually means your phone is not in your hand so seems irrelevant to me. Most death grip issues are related to unreasonable coverage of a device. palmsolo (aka Matthew Miller) 06/06/2011 01:46 PM @palmsolo (aka Matthew Miller) There are plenty of times that a degraded bluetooth connection would negatively affect user experience, such as when using a bluetooth headset for calls or just stereo listening. You pointed out that it since it is a GSM phone on T-Mobile it does both data and voice at the same time, and I can easily see a person on a call at the same time browsing. Hopefully, the proported 20 to 30db drop in signal wouldn’t affect such a close connection. In any case, the possibility of such a defect does get my attention and makes me think twice about the unit. petersonjp 06/06/2011 05:49 PM Does this phone have a mobile WiFi hotspot built in? If so can you share any details, how well it works, etc? I’m considering swapping my Blackberry for one of these, and am looking for a way for my notebook PC, my iPod Touch 4G and my Nook to get connected when needed. Also does Gingerbread on this phone allow simultaneous use of cellular voice and the web? EasyDoesIt (Edited: 06/06/2011 08:58 AM) @EasyDoesIt There is a hotspot utility and you simply choose to enable it to turn it on. You can set it up to be open and secure too. It is a GSM phone on T-Mobile so it does both data and voice at the same time. palmsolo (aka Matthew Miller) 06/06/2011 01:44 PM Thanks for the nice review. Can you elaborate on the internal storage? This is the first I’ve heard of this phone having 4GB internal. Are you saying that 3GB is used for Android and Sense and the remaining 1GB is for Apps? wmurphy1975 06/06/2011 09:34 AM @wmurphy1975 Yes, 3GB is used by the OS. A few other Android phones have this too. palmsolo (aka Matthew Miller) 06/06/2011 01:42 PM At this point in the HTC 4.3 screen game all the big phones in the lineup starting from the very first Sprint’s EVO are all pretty much the same. The real truth that is news worthy is two words,? battery life”. I do not care what great things these phones are capable of and how they look; if the battery life is sick then everything else is nothing for consideration. This is precisely why electric cars are not happening to any degree. They may be massively full of great technology but if you need eight hours of charge to make it half way to work then it is a dead issue just like Smartphone?s with a half a day battery. ksaldutti@… 06/06/2011 10:01 AM I suppose the Sense UI is not that bad even though I much prefer the stock Android experience for the Buy Htc Sensation. Grayson Peddie 06/06/2011 10:15 AM @ksaldutti These Superphones have come a long way since the “One Trick Pony” days of Blackberry. It’s 2K11 for goodness sakes, if you do not have an aux power outlet in your home, car, and office you are behind the times my friend. Also, the Hybrid Car ie..Plug in Car problem is not the range of the battery, it’s the price! You can purchase a number of smaller cars for less than $20K that get comparable range and mileage than a $40K Chevy Volt. worldbfree4me (Edited: 06/06/2011 01:51 PM) From another website’s review the sensation seems to suffer from bad reception when held in landscape mode because the antennas are right under, directly placed on the cover, so did you experience any of call or wifi dropping when you changed your grip ? yousefn 06/06/2011 04:40 PM … so… do these “duelling” flashes pose any problems? ;P iFX.64 06/07/2011 02:47 AM
